Mass firing of gay federal employees remembered 60 years later

A new documentary film is set to tell the story of "The Lavender Scare," which culminated in an executive order signed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on April 27, 1953, that terminated all federal employees who were gay or lesbian. The film's executive producer, Kevin Jennings, said the executive order established a pattern of anti-LGBT employment discrimination that remains today. "[A]nti-LGBT discrimination isn't past and it certainly isn't over," Jennings said.
