United to purchase 76-seat regional jets from Embraer

United Continental ordered 30 regional jets from Embraer in a deal worth about $840 million. United plans to replace its 50-seat jets with the 76-seat E-175 jets from the Brazilian manufacturer. "We are delighted to reinforce and extend our long-standing partnership with United," Embraer said in a statement.
