AMA: Practices must join PQRS or face 2016 penalty

An American Medical Association report warns physician practices with 10 or more members they need to participate in the 2014 Physician Quality Reporting System to avoid a 2% penalty in 2016. Practices that did not participate in 2013 will face a 1.5% Medicare payment penalty next year. At least half of group practice physicians must participate in 2014 PQRS individually, or the practice may use the group practice reporting option.
