IAB proposes pop-up guidelines

The Interactive Advertising Bureau proposed guidelines for how e-marketers should handle pop-up ads, saying, among other things, users should not have to be exposed to more than one pop-up ad per site visit. IAB CEO Greg Stuart said it remains "unclear" to what extent the guidelines will be needed after Microsoft releases its updated Windows package, which allows users to block pop-ups.
