Tanker fire causes collapse of critical Bay Area artery ramp

A gasoline tanker that crashed near the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge caused a fire so intense that the ramp on a critical traffic artery melted and collapsed. Officials say it could take months for the ramp to be repaired and the collapse would likely cause the worst disruption to Bay Area traffic since the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake damaged the bridge.
