Study: Mind can only handle four things at once

Our working memories can only pay attention to and manipulate three or four items at once, according to a recent study. Previous estimates were that we could remember seven things, and certainly some people can interrelate more than four pieces. "If you have a better working memory we believe that your problem-solving abilities are better," said the lead researcher.
