Earnings reports show that companies including Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive and Kellogg are feeling the pressure as consumers continue to switch to private labels and weed out unnecessary purchases. "There is some trade down, there's obvious pocketbook pressure," said A.G. Lafley, P&G's chairman and CEO.
