Ocean thermal energy conversion could harness power of the sea

Lockheed Martin is one company studying ocean thermal energy conversion to create electricity using ammonia, a turbine generator and the difference between the ocean's warm surface waters and its colder depths. An advantage of the technology is that it could run 24 hours a day, unlike solar or wind power, but some question the economic feasibility of the technology.
