Renewable energy projects get $193M from Energy Department

Energy Secretary Steven Chu has announced $110 million in funding for the National Renewable Energy Lab, as well as $83 million for wind energy projects. NREL, located in Golden, Colo., serves as the main U.S. laboratory for renewable energy. "Wind energy will be one of the most important contributors to meeting President Obama's target of generating 10% of our electricity from renewable sources by 2012," said Chu.
