Santa Monica to extend contract to monitor airport noise levels

The city of Santa Monica, Calif., was expected to extend Era Corp.'s contract to monitor noise from aircraft landing at and taking off from Santa Monica Airport for five years. Neighbors have long complained about noise from the airport, and under the contract, estimated at about $240,000, Era will help ensure the airport is in compliance with local regulations.
