Study touts RDT as effective diagnostic tool for malaria

The rapid diagnostic test for malaria proved to be more accurate than current testing methods at identifying patients who should receive artemisinin-based combination therapy in a study involving four clinics in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The finding demonstrates that improved diagnostic tools can help ensure that more malaria patients receive appropriate treatment.
