Survey: FDA falling behind in ensuring drug safety

About half of nearly 2,500 adults think the FDA is doing a poor job in tracking the safety and efficacy of prescription drugs, according to a Harris Interactive/HealthDay poll. However, the survey shows the U.S. public's confidence in the agency is higher compared with last year's poll. An FDA spokeswoman did not comment on the results but said the agency is in talks with the Obama administration about policies to improve product oversight.
