Improved chemical demand spurs rise in Dow Corning's Q1 profit

Dow Corning saw its earnings in the first quarter jump to $218.3 million, up from $9.4 million in the same period last year, as a result of strong demand for its silicone products. The company's revenue in the first quarter rose to $1.35 billion from $1.03 billion in the same period last year.
