Minnesota district looks to cut special-education budget

Officials in a Minnesota district are working to make $300,000 in cuts from the district's special-education budget in preparation for reduced state and federal funding. Making transportation changes and laying off six paraprofessionals are among the proposed changes to the district's programs, which serve 1,066 students with special needs.
