Report: $5B in HIT investments needed to reach health reform goals

A new report projects that federal, local and state organizations will need to spend about $5 billion on health information technology in order to meet the health reform requirements. The report identified four IT needs, including clinical IT, such as clinical-decision support and EHRs, and business IT, such as document management and billing systems.
