Sale of F-16s to Pakistan seen as sign of closer ties with U.S.

The U.S. sale of F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan indicates that the relationship of defense cooperation between the two countries is growing, according to the Pentagon. The fact that "great strides" have been made in speeding up reimbursement payments for coalition support funds to the Pakistanis is also an indicator of the burgeoning relationship, officials said.
