SureWest revenue steady as it makes home-entertainment push

SureWest Communications reported revenue that was basically flat from a year earlier in its first-quarter report as the regional telecom said it had succeeded in trimming operational costs and reducing long-term debt. Like other telecoms, SureWest has high hopes for its home-entertainment services. The telecom, whose profits rose slightly after accounting for a one-time gain from an equipment sale a year ago, introduced its Advanced Digital TV service in January.
