Boeing finishes first 787 made at S.C. plant

Boeing's first 787 airliner made in North Charleston, S.C., rolled off the assembly line last week. Boeing opened the $750 million assembly plant last summer, employing 6,000 workers there. "It has been pretty impressive how Boeing has got this whole operation together, and is now actually rolling out an aircraft from a factory that has never made a plane before," said Rob Stallard, an aerospace analyst with RBC Capital Markets.
