Demand strong for class A retail, grocery-anchored properties

Competition for class A retail properties is fierce and has driven cap rates below 5%, Jones Lang LaSalle says. Top-tier grocery-anchored shopping centers are also trading at good prices, with cap rates coming at a 6%. For Q1, approximately $16 billion in retail properties have traded, according to Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services. That is a 42% increase from the same period last year.
