Energy Transfer to acquire Sunoco for $5.3 billion

Energy Transfer Partners will spend $5.3 billion to acquire Sunoco. The deal includes 4,900 gasoline stations, close to 8,000 miles of pipeline and a refinery business. The acquisition would expand ETP's focus from natural gas to the oil market. "We needed to be more involved in the movement of crude," said Kelcy Warren, chairman and CEO of ETP.
