N.Y. official: State to consider community input for fracking permits

The stances of New York's communities toward hydraulic fracturing would be considered if the practice gets allowed in the state, said state Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens. "I think logically where there is less resistance and less opposition and there is not a local land-use plan in place, I think those will be easier to permit than in other places," Martens said.
