Should integrated reporting be mandatory?

Integrated reports, in which companies disclose environmental, social and governance information along with their financial results, should be made mandatory, says Harvard's Robert Eccles. If such reporting remains voluntary, only companies with good environmental records will participate, Eccles warns. "Accomplishing [sustainable strategies] at a global scale means that integrated reporting needs to be a mandatory, not voluntary, exercise."
