Statin use linked to reduced gastric cancer risk

Statin use correlated with a 32% reduction in the risk for developing gastric cancer in a retrospective study of 1,685 patients in Taiwan, according to research published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology. "Given the widespread use of statins, this magnitude of risk reduction would have a substantial public health impact," the researchers wrote.
