Survey: 70% of staff financial advisers want to go independent

More than 70% of advisers who work at a financial firm are thinking about going independent, according to a survey by Diamond Consultants. Such advisers want more control over how they run their business and want freedom to act as an advocate for clients, the survey found. CPAs who provide personal financial planning services may want to consider joining the AICPA's PFP section.
