Carriers extend passenger experience in lounges

Airlines are trying to bring more luxury experiences to the U.S. in the form of airport lounges, which extend a passenger's experience before and after the flight. "We believe that the comfort and convenience of dedicated lounges enables our passengers to enjoy the Emirates experience even before they have boarded the plane," said Mohammed H. Mattar, divisional senior vice president at Emirates Airport Services. Meanwhile, competitor Etihad Airways is hoping to obtain lounge space at JFK airport in New York.
