Consumers to spend more on mom this year, surveys show

Consumers plan to spend 11% more on Mother's Day this year, according NRF's annual survey by BIGinsight, with spending expected to hit $20.7 billion. While respondents report plans to buy electronic gadgets and jewelry for mom, a separate survey reveals mom's fondest wish may be for a handmade macaroni necklace or an entire day to herself.
