Google sets I/O schedule, extends V2 of Maps JavaScript API

Version 3 of the Google Maps JavaScript application programming interface hasn't been adopted as quickly by developers as projected, so Google is moving the shutdown of Version 2 from May 19 to Nov. 19. The new version added "elevation, cycling and transit directions and symbols" features, Todd R. Weiss writes. In other news, Google has announced the conference schedule for Google I/O, which will offer 120 Android and Chrome sessions and a three-hour keynote.
