Hospitals see quality improvement, savings under CMS initiative

A report by the American Hospital Association revealed facilities that participated in the CMS' Hospital Engagement Network program lowered rates of readmission by 14% over 12 months. The improvements helped save $100 million, according to the document. Hospitals that joined the initiative, which offers education and training, also made substantial improvements on other quality metrics, researchers said.
