Men's soccer lags behind NBA, says former basketball player:

Former NBA player John Amaechi, who came out as gay after retiring from the sport, says professional soccer is dragging its heels in making it safe for a gay player to come out. "If it wanted to change it would change. It has the resources to do so. It doesn't want to change," Amaechi said in an interview about professional athletes who are closeted.
