Retailers aim to make Bangladesh factories safer

The Retail Council of Canada will develop new trade guidelines in the wake of last week's building collapse that killed at least 390 people in Bangladesh, the group said Tuesday. The announcement came after a Monday meeting to talk about manufacturing safety issues with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and representatives of 45 retail companies including Gap, H&M, J.C. Penney, Wal-Mart and Primark.
