Sports-focused TV and radio outlets had a few awkward moments in reaction to NBA player Jason Collins' announcement that he is gay, Dade Hayes writes. Chris Broussard, an analyst and reporter for ESPN, questioned Collins' Christian beliefs during an "Outside the Lines" segment, while some talk radio hosts were reluctant to discuss the topic at length. "If sports is a mirror of society, then the media must be ready to cover more than just the Xs and Os," Hayes writes.
