CMS proposes rules on inpatient hospital payments

The CMS on Wednesday released its Inpatient Prospective Payment System proposal for 2015, which focuses on quality issues such as readmissions, value-based purchasing and hospital-acquired conditions. The proposed rule increases reimbursements to general acute care hospitals by 1.3% and to long-term care hospitals by 0.8%.
