Long-term diabetes leads to greater, faster brain shrinkage

Longer type 2 diabetes duration was tied to greater and faster brain volume loss, especially in the gray matter, according to a study in the journal Radiology. Researchers also found that the brains of those with diabetes appeared about two years older than those of their healthier peers for every 10 years patients had the disease.
