Florida Senate kills plan to ease class-size caps

After intense lobbying from both sides, the Florida Senate late Friday rejected Gov. Jeb Bush's proposal to raise by up to five students voter-approved class-size caps taking effect by the 2010-11 school year. Opponents of the change noted the original amendment passed with a 52.4% majority.
