Pediatricians urged to help control obesity

A new policy from the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that pediatricians should take a greater role in helping to prevent obesity by asking patients and their parents how active they are and how much time they spend on sedentary activities. The policy also urges pediatricians to recommend no television for children under age 2 and not more than two hours a day of TV or other "screen time" for older children.
