Businesses a boon to cable industry's bottom line

Cable is well-positioned to nab small and mid-size businesses as new customers, according to a study by BNA's Pike & Fischer. The study also said the business-services market could grow to more than $10 billion by 2012 compared with estimated revenue of $1.2 billion to $1.5 billion last year. Cox is the current leader in the business-services category, but the study said Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cablevision Systems were ramping up their services to businesses.
