The Maytag repairman will still be a gentle, folksy soul, but he won't be quite as lonely as he makes repair calls for other brands' appliances, in a series of new spots from Publicis USA, New York. The makeover of the Maytag brand icon is part of a renewed interest in character-driven campaigns, including ones for Dairy Queen and Georgia-Pacific's Vanity Fair napkins.
