Survey: Nursing home, assisted living costs increase in 2009

The cost of living in a nursing home or an assisted living facility increased this year, according to a survey by insurer Genworth Financial. The primary reason was the higher cost of labor, although that has become less of a factor as the recession has increased the availability of workers. The survey found the cost of in-home care remained relatively flat.
