U.K. lawmakers call for clarity on asset-protection plan

The Treasury Select Committee said the U.K. government should clarify its ultimate objectives for the government-backed asset-protection plan it began in February. Members of Parliament also said the idea of splitting up retail and investment banking at financial institutions is a "live issue which requires further debate."
