Xeriscaping can revive the beauty of a dry lawn

Xeriscape gardening can bring back the healthy appearance of dried lawns and gardens through its use of native plants that can survive with little irrigation, according to some horticulture experts. Plants such as lantana, salvia and bluebonnets can provide color to a xeriscaped yard, said Barbara Craig, a master gardener. A drip-irrigation system should also be installed to water the plants, because it distributes water to the roots and is more efficient, Craig added.
