Barriers still exist for sustainable palm oil in the U.S., Cargill says

Cargill says that the U.S. still has a long way to go before sustainable palm oil fractions, the form used by food manufacturers, are affordable in the country. Cost is still the biggest barrier to implementation, and demand isn't yet high enough for Cargill's four palm oil refineries to produce the product at full capacity, according to Mohit Gupta, tropical oils product line manager.
