HHS issues final rule for Community First Choice program

HHS has issued a final rule governing its Community First Choice program that raises the federal Medicaid match for states that provide support services and home attendants for beneficiaries who otherwise would be in nursing homes. HHS also said 16 organizations will be part of Medicare's Independence at Home demonstration. The project will seek to reduce costs and improve quality by using nurse practitioners and physicians to provide primary care at home for chronically ill patients.
