Scientists identify genetic links among diseases

Geneticists, biologists and physicists taking a systemic approach to disease have found genetic commonalities among seemingly disparate diseases, such as deafness, cardiomyopathy and ectodermal dysplasia. Researchers are now collaborating on a project to map how genes and proteins interact within cells.
