The selling of mobile application install ads has become a significant source of revenue for Facebook, executives said. Fewer than 4,000 developers have advertised their apps on Facebook, prompting 25 million installs. "We're uniquely positioned to offer developers massive reach," Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg said. CEO Mark Zuckerberg added, "Even if every recommendation isn't one you take ... we think [app discovery] is good for the community."
