India FII falls to 16-month low

Net inflow from foreign institutional investors to India marked a 16-month low in April at about US$1 billion. Analysts cited a number of possible reasons for the decline. "We have seen FIIs pumping in funds in the Indian equity market during the month, but they are concerned about various economic factors such as [the current account deficit] touching a record high and political uncertainty," said Alex Mathews, Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services research chief.
