Iraqi gas JV targets sharp rise in production by year's end

Royal Dutch Shell's natural gas development joint venture with Mitsubishi and South Gas will have significantly increased production from the Rumaila, Zubair and West Qurna 1 oil fields in Iraq by year's end, said Ali Hussein Khudhier, director of South Gas. "We are producing now 400 million cubic feet a day and targeting 500 million cubic feet a day by the end of 2013. We are expecting to reach 2 billion cubic feet a day in 2017," Khudhier said.
