S.C. lawmakers urged to allow offshore energy development

South Carolina lawmakers need to authorize offshore oil and natural gas development in the state's waters, energy industry representatives said during an energy conference. The state would generate thousands of jobs aside from reaping $250 million in lease royalty payments if such development occurs, speakers said. "If you don't move in the next three years, you'll miss out on where the money goes," said Scott Noble of Noble Royalties.
