Will customers pay more for ethical products?

About one-third of consumers are willing to pay a 5% premium for clothing that's produced ethically, without the use of sweatshops, according to this article. About one-fourth would pay a 20% to 50% premium. These numbers could go up in light of the recent Bangladesh factory collapse, which is "going to haunt the major manufacturers and major retailers, and they're going to have to get on it," said Michael Silverstein of Boston Consulting Group.
