Early death, disability more likely in middle-age people with poor fitness

A study revealed middle-aged individuals who could not complete any of three physical ability tests were 12 times as likely as those with better scores to suffer early death. Another study showed light physical activity helped participants at risk of knee arthritis stave off disability. The findings were published in BMJ.
