Study: "Healthy" obesity does not guarantee lower heart risk

A study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology showed obese patients exhibited greater arterial plaque buildup than their slimmer counterparts despite having normal blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose levels. "Our research shows that the presence of obesity is enough to increase a person's risk of future heart disease and that the disease may already be starting to form in their body," said lead researcher Dr. Yoosoo Chang.
